What Flixr is for

Flixr helps people find films and TV to watch, and lets them say what they thought. Reviews, replies, lists and profiles can be seen by other people, so these rules apply to all of them. They sit alongside our Terms of Use.

What's welcome

Honest opinions, including harsh ones about a film. Recommendations, good lists, and replies that add something. Disagree with a review as much as you like, but talk about the film, not the person who wrote about it.

What isn't allowed

• Hate speech, harassment and bullying.
• Threats of violence, and content that encourages self-harm.
• Any sexual content involving children. Explicit sexual content of any kind is also not allowed.
• Spam, scams and pretending to be someone else.
• Unmarked spoilers. If a review gives away the plot, switch on "Contains spoilers" before you post it.
• Other people's private information, or anything you don't have the right to share.
• Anything illegal.

Text in reviews, replies, list names and display names is checked against a filter when you submit it, and some usernames are reserved.

How to report

• A review or reply: on the title page, scroll to Reviews, open the menu on the review or reply and choose Report review or Report reply. Pick a reason, add details if you like, and choose Send report.
• A person: open their profile, open the menu at the top, choose Report and pick a reason.

Blocking and privacy

To block someone, open their profile, open the menu at the top and choose Block. You'll stop seeing each other's reviews and ratings, you'll stop following each other, and neither of you will get notifications about the other or be able to work on a list together. You can unblock anyone in Me, Settings, Blocked users.

You can also make your account private, so people have to send a follow request, and choose who can see your ratings, Watchlist, lists and reviews: everyone, followers or only you.

What we do about reports

Reports go to a moderation queue that we review. If something breaks these rules we can remove it, and we can suspend or ban the account responsible. A suspended or banned account is locked out, and its ratings stop counting towards community averages. If you think we've got something wrong, email us and we'll look again.

How to leave

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Me, Settings, Account and security, Delete account.
